Communication Parameters

Top  Previous  Next

The CAT facility in TurboLog 4 can be adapted to virtually any manufacturer's transceiver. However, no communication can be established between the rig and TurboLog 4 if the basic communication parameters are unknown. The major suppliers of Ham Radio gear use the standards below for most of their equipment. Be aware, however, that most recent transceivers may follow other standards. Kenwood, for example, has changed to 9600 Baud (9K6) for its latest product, the TS2000.

For the time being all transceivers supported by TurboLog 4 are controlled by the following communication parameters:

YAESU and KENWOOD:ICOM and TenTec:

BAUDRATE = 4800 ( TS2000: 9600 )1200 ( ORION-II: 57600 )
DATABITS = 88
STOPBITS = 21
PARITY =  NN

If any of the manufacturers decides to introduce new parameters....no problem: Editing is all that needs to be done.
