This is the first release of TurboLog.

Version 1.01 20-Jan 1992
Try as we might, a few minor bugs crept past our beta-trial
team!
NEW FEATURES:
- The directory lists, used during all file operations are
now ordered in root filename order (was in DOS order, which sometimes made
it hard to find things).
- The import facility now supports another import standard,
used to allow the import of ASCII files created as a result of our paper log
conversion service.
-
Also released with version 1.01 is a demonstration version
which gives the full functionality of TurboLog, but with a sort of "random
death". This means that prospective customers can try the complete program
out and then order the registered version without the random death feature.
The TurboLog demonstrator is public domain. You can get a copy by sending
me a disc with return postage.

Version 1.02 25-Jan 1992
Mainly a features enhancements release.
NEW FEATURES:
- Support for the HAMCALL database is implemented. For more
information on this and other databases, please contact your distributor.
- The personal directory is greatly enhanced to allow multiple
directory files (8) and an indexed lookup. This makes for very fast lookup,
even if you have several very large directories.
- The personal directory is now interrogated with Keyword data
as well as Callsign data.
- The Review mode is enhanced to allow the use of the + key
to set QSO finish time to current system time. This is useful for closing
off net type QSO's.
- When TL is first started up the band/mode/power defaults
to those of the last QSO entered (if any), rather than always starting on
1.8 CW.

Version 1.03 10-Feb 1992
NEW FEATURES:
- Ten "internal database" hot keys, Alt-1 to Alt-0 are defined.
The QSL and HAMCALL keys are removed, as they are available as one of the
ten Alt-# keys. The demonstration mode keys are redefined as Cntl-F1 and Cntl-F2.
New parameters are added in TURBOLOG.CNF to cater for this feature.
- QSL printing enhanced to allow printing of labels for QSO's
that have NOT been marked for QSL'ing.
- The general purpose ASCII import now allows you to import
QSL sent and received information fields. File handling error messages are
improved.
- The logbook list process is enhanced to include a search
scope of "ALL QSO's".
- The DXCC and KEYWORD listings are enhanced to allow listing
of countries worked/not worked/all.

Version 1.04 20-Feb 1992
NEW FEATURES:
- Date display in log and on the top line is greatly enhanced
to allow the following formats: DD-MM-YY, MM/DD/YY, DDMMM-YY and MMMDD/YY.
The format is determined by DATEFORM in TURBOLOG.CNF.
- The QSL print program is enhanced to allow user defined
QSL data files to be produced. QSL data is output to as ASCII file with whatever
delimiters the user defines, one line per record, for use by external QSL
programs.
- A new parameter is added in TURBOLOG.CNF. TIMEOFS allows
you to specify the difference in hours between your PC's clock and UTC.

Version 1.05 04-Mar 1992
NEW FEATURES:
- Support for K1EA version 7.20 and upwards implemented. The
CT .RES file now contains mode (CW, SSB or RTTY) and this is detected and
correctly imported. Thanks to G3NKS & G4VXE for assistance with this one.
- A facility to void a range of QSO's is supported in the
REVIEW procedure, accessed via F6 (review) then Alt-F7. Useful if you import
something by mistake! You still need to do a sort to delete the voided QSO's.

Version 1.06 11-Mar 1992
BUG FIX:
- It was occasionally possible, on some systems, for TL to
run out of file handles. The file handle alias table has been moved from the
PSP and increased in size from the DOS PSP limit of 20 up to 31. Note: you
still need to set FILES=40 in your CONFIG.SYS.

Version 1.07 17-Mar 1992
NEW FEATURES:
- The information contained in ERR.LOG (in USRFILES) is greatly
enhanced.
- Improvements are made to the way outbound serial numbers
are handled in log entry operations, when in contest mode.
- A new menu item allows you to select any log-file, and create
new ones with any name. F8 from Logbook operations. Requested by G3XTT and
others. Support for the startup option FN=xxx is therefore obsolete and is
removed.
- If the online help file TURBOLOG.HLP has been changed, then
the first access to help will automatically rebuild the internal help file.
Support for the startup option NEWHELP is therefore obsolete and is removed.
- The DXCC and Keyword listing facilities are enhanced to
provide column totals for every column. Requested by G3TXF.
- The CT import facility is further enhanced to allow state/zone
received to be placed in the keyword field.

Version 1.08 23-Mar 1992
NEW FEATURES:
- TurboLog messages are now held in a separate file called
TURBOLOG.MSG, which resides in the root directory, along with TURBOLOG.CNF,
EXE and OVR. This will hopefully reduce the number of updates required to
TURBOLOG.CNF.

Version 1.09 01-Apr 1992 (honest!)
NEW FEATURES:
- The file handle limit is revised again, this time to 25,
to avoid the risk of DOS itself running out of handles.
back to version index
Version 1.10 07-Apr 1992
NEW FEATURES:
- Support for new Yaesu PROM (Version 6.00 in FT1000, 1.3
in FT990) implemented. This PROM overcomes the problem of the transceiver
locking up for several seconds whilst its frequency is read. The code automatically
detects the PROM version.
- Support for the Yaesu FT890 added.
- An improved sort algorithm is used in the log sort operation

Version 1.11 11-Apr 1992
BUG FIX:
- In changing the sort algorithm (V1.10) I broke the rebuild
index files part of the operation, and also the Alt-L facility in the logging
window. This version fixes those problems.

Version 1.12 18-Apr 1992
This was the version released at Dayton Hamvention, 1992.
NEW FEATURE:
- Support for deleted countries implemented. A DXCC status
flag of X in COUNTRY.DAT is used. QSOs entered for deleted countries must
have the country number edited in manually after entry. Deleted countries
are shown in DXCC totals etc.

Version 1.13 14-May 1992
NEW FEATURES:
back to version index
Version 1.14 27-May 1992
This is the version distributed at the RSGB NEC Convention,
May 1992.
NEW FEATURE:
- As it is now possible to have several entries in the personal
database for any given callsign, a new facility (Alt-D from the logging window)
allows a full listing of all the entries, plus selection of any one of them
for inclusion in the comments field, using the CUU/CUD keys.
back to version index
Version 1.15 02-Jun 1992
NEW FEATURE:
- Transceiver control. You can now override the default transceiver
address and interface speed settings via parameters RIGADDR and RIGSPEED in
TURBOLOG.CNF. This is particularly useful for users of Icom transceivers.
back to version index
Version 1.16 22-Jun 1992
NEW FEATURE:
- Sort operations improved to handle very large log databases
better.
back to version index
Version 1.17 25-Jul 1992
This version was released at the Scarborough Rally, 26-Jul 1992.
NEW FEATURES:
- Rig memories are implemented for rapid QSY anywhere. Up to
100 frequencies and modes are contained in TURBOLOG.CNF (Parameter RIGMEM),
and the QSY is performed by typing #nnn into the callsign field, where nnn
is the memory number. (Requested by G3YBT)
- Support for keyboard translation tables is implemented,
in response to requests from Scandinavia. These operate on Packet input/output
and the CW generator only. (Requested by OH2BBF)
- Support for K1EA CT version 8 implemented. The .RES file
version is detected automatically. (Requested by AK1A and others)
- Time stamping the start of a QSO is now supported. When you
start your QSO you can press + and the time will be remembered. You can then
take your time over entering the QSO details and when you do press enter to
log the QSO, the start time will be set to when you pressed +. The start time
is displayed in the band/mode/power window. A further depression of + cancels
the time stamp. This is for if the QSO subsequently fails. The previous definition
of the + key is no longer required as a result. (Requested by G3FPQ)
- The screen blanker is enhanced. Using parameter BLANKOFF
in TURBOLOG.CNF, you can set which types of PacketCluster activity will cancel
the saver. (Requested by G4CCZ, G0CCH and others)
- Using the *COMMENT facility in the callsign field now logs
band, mode and power, so it can be used meaningfully for *CQ calls etc. (Requested
by G0RBY)
- New ICOM transceiver/receiver types supported: IC575, IC725,
IC726, IC7100.
back to version index
Version 1.18 29-Jul 1992
BUG FIX:
- When using Scandinavian character set in the basic packet
window, the ö key caused the TALK window to pop up. Also the Scandinavian
characters could not be sent from the pop-up windows. Note: If using the Scandinavian
character set, then Alt-T talk cannot be used in the basic packet window,
due to a clash of keyboard codes. (Tnx: OH2BBF)
back to version index
Version 1.19 12-Aug 1992
BUG FIX:
- Personal Directory rebuild did not close files properly,
resulting in problems on some systems. (Tnx G3FPQ and James)
back to version index
Version 1.20 29-Aug 1992
NEW FEATURE:
- TNC command to get to converse mode changed from K to CONV
to support TNCs that don't understand the K command.
