Interfacing a new Transceiver

Top  Previous  Next

If you do not find your transceiver on the menu list while you try activating the CAT facility....here is how to proceede:

1.If your rig is a KENWOOD you should try the TS2000 and anyone of the other TS... models. One is as good as the other. If your CAT works ok you only need to Press the Save as.. button in activating the CAT facility in order to save its file under the name of your new rig and to have your rig's name on display in TurboLog 4. Done, ...that's all. We would appreciate any feedback of successful connections made. Please report your result to our address in order to include the new rig into a future update of TurboLog 4. If all efforts to start CAT operations fails you need to dig deeper in order to find the trouble. You should start by means of the CAT trace facility and by carefully studying the rig's interface documentation. If you do not get any help from there: Please contact us at our address for advice.

2.If your rig is an ICOM, TenTec or YAESU which you do not find on the menu list while you try activating the CAT facility you should try models of the same brand that were manufactured at about the same time or with similar model names. If you found a model that works properly you only need to Press the Save as.. button in activating the CAT facility in order  to save its file under the name of your new rig and to have your rig's name on display in TurboLog 4. Done,...that's all. We would appreciate any feedback of successful connections made. Please report your result to our address in order to include the new rig into a future update of TurboLog 4. If all attempts to start CAT operations fail you need to dig deeper in order to find the trouble. You should start by means of the CAT trace facility and by carefully studying the rig's interface documentation. Editing an existing similar Cat file in activating the CAT facility may be necessary. This may require modification of  just one or a few parameters slightly. It may necessary to include new commands from the list of Cat commands if the cat files do not contain any commands that exactly meet the requirements for your particular TRX. If you are unsuccessful: Please contact us at our address for advice.

3.If your rig does not belong to either of the above categories, you should still start by trying various rigs from the menu list and try activating the CAT facility. If you do find a model that works properly you only need to Press the Save as.. button in activating the CAT facility in order  to  save its file under the name of your new rig and to have your rig's name on display in TurboLog 4.
