Interfacing Multi-Mode Terminal Units

If you intend using the multimode capabilities in TurboLog 4, then you will need to interface your Terminal Unit (TU) to TurboLog 4. The TU requires a separate serial port apart from that used by the packet controller. If your PC does not provide enough serial ports you will need to apply a comport extender. These devices are also available for USB-ports, e.g. to extend one USB-port into 4 or even 8 RS-232 serial ports.

You should be able to use any TU on the market, as the commands and control characters used are fully definable in the multimode setup scripts.
