Unlike connecting to internet clusters where no additional peripheral devices are required Packet Radio requires quite some external hardware effort. It consists of a TNC ( Terminal Node Controller ) which cares for the protocol handshake with the radio sites and a suitable data transceiver plus antenna. Furthermore, some expert knowledge will be required to successfully set up the whole link from the PC's COMport and menu site via the TNC to the radio sites. Here is where we describe how to gain the necessary knowledge and how to do the correct steps in TurboLog 4.
