FREQUENCY |
Top Previous Next |
This is where you can log the frequency which you used for this QSO. Unlike the band field the frequency field does not belong to the QSO essentials. Depending on the mode of operation, however, the entry undergoes an integrity check e.g. in order to derive a valid band from it, before the QSO is logged. In most cases you will not enter frequency data manually but use the CAT to do it for you completely automated.
The interaction between the band and the frequency field depends on your choice of mode of operation, e.g.:
While in band logging mode the band is expected to be manually entered from the band field. Derived from the selected band and by use of the bands & modes table the nominal band centre frequency will be automatically inserted in the frequency field. While in full frequency logging mode the frequency is expected to be manually entered from the frequency field. Derived from the frequency entered and by use of the bands & modes table the associated band will be automatically inserted in the band field. If CAT is used the frequency will be read from the transceiver via a specified serial interface.
Like all other fields the frequency field can be customized on the loginput line. All features described for customizing the loginput line apply for this field. This includes the commands available and search operations ( keyword search, quick search) in particular.
With respect to the field properties the frequency field is not equipped with a stack. If you wanted to create an input stack, the stack will pop up directly below the call field on pressing Ctrl+Cursor+Down. If you want to load from it into the frequency field you just select the line of interest by mouse or by pressing Cursor+Down until you get there. A left mouse key double click will enter the stack line into the frequency field. Likewise you can press Enter for the same action. Both operations will not only load from the stack but also move the input focus to the field to the right of the frequency field. This saves an additional keystroke.
Active COMMANDS: See table in loginput line.
CLICKABLES and HOTSPOTS: Every input field can be clicked: See loginput line.
